Students can learn the skill of observing life science by using local resources. Here is a quick pond water observations activity for students to investigate, observe, compare and record. You’ll love how this kindergarten and first grade activity can go a long way just using a simple resource like water!
Pond Water Observations and Investigation
Students use their skills of observation and comparing when looking at two kinds of water. Use clear containers and give each set of students a school water sample and a pond water sample.
Allow the use of tools like a flashlight, magnifying glass or pipette for students to safely observe the clarity and content of the pond water. Let students help collect the school water and share their recorded pond water observations.
