Check it out! I created two science centers that last two full weeks for my classroom, and they are all about magnets.
I’ve got some ideas about how to put together activities that take very little prep time and use materials that you most likely already have in the classroom.
After exploring magnets for a week, I had my kindergarten students experiment with trying to figure out what common items will attract a magnet and what will not.
I’ve got free printable signs so that you can set up sorting baskets like these.
So come join the fun! There’s the freebie in it for you, too…

Heidi is a credentialed teacher with 25+ years experience, a Reading Specialist, author, songwriter, and staff development trainer. After years of developing her own curricular materials, her peers urged her to share her methods with other teachers, and to present at the California Kindergarten Conference. The response was overwhelming and encouraged Heidi to publish her first music CD! She has since grown this basic curriculum into the ‘HeidiSongs’ product line and website, which now includes DVD’s, books, and many other teaching resources! As the popularity of her program has grown, she has also developed teacher training programs and presented educational keynotes nationwide.
