It can really make a difference to reach out to parents for help in preparing for state standardized testing. Here is a free standardized testing parent letter you can send home to make getting parents involved easier.
Send this parent testing letter home the week before your state’s big test so you can help parents know how best to prepare.
Simple things that can help students do their best include:
- Getting good sleep (and rest)
- Eating healthy breakfasts (since testing is usually done first thing on testing days)
- Giving encouragement (without increasing pressure some students may already feel)
- Making sure students arrive to school on time
So these simple tips are included in the free download to give to parents.
When you send it home a few days in advance you give parents the time to write an encouraging note to their student (usually in third grade, fourth grade or fifth grade) and you can hand them out before the test.
What a fun and personal way to encourage students and help take just a bit of the edge off on testing day! Some parents may love doing it so much that they will send in one for each day of testing {wink}
So whether your students are taking the TAKS, CSAP, WKCE, EOG, STAR, MEAP, MCA, MSA, PSSA, FCAT, ISAT, TC(r)AP, CATS, PAWS, PACT, ISTEP, LEAP, MCAS or CMT you can use this general note to help give your students the best boost in feeling prepared.
