Create a suffix reading center with free printables. Here is a set of free downloads to practice suffixes for third grade. The common core standards based posters and center activity uses houses to help students identify and know the meaning of the most common suffixes. Posters with suffixes on houses in a row are great for whole group lessons.

Suffixes Center Activity Free Printable
Students read mini cards with a sentence on them. They determine a replacement word for the sentence from a bank of suffix words. Students sort the word cards chosen based on the suffix – they place it on the correct “suffix house.” Extend the work with writing more and use the printable posters to create classroom suffix anchor charts.
