Main Topic – Common Core Paragraph Writing
Start with gift bags that contain pictures all related to a main topic (or main idea). Students learn how to identify the main topic and become familiar with the vocabulary. Then use a graphic organizer to begin writing paragraphs. They will feel successful writing an introductory sentence, followed by 3 detail sentences about the main topic!
